Hi Everyone! Well, I was going to post my 'diamond' adventure, but my ring came in today, and I had a question for all of you 'experts'.

I bought my diamond H, SI1, excellent cut, 1ct and sent it to be set in a Henri Daussi H20. If you look at the youtube video..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F67RGpm22PA , Does this show a graduating pave band?
I ordered the band based on the video, the hand shot, the photos from the jeweler and Henridaussi.com for the style H20. But when I received it today, you can barely see the diamonds on the sides of the split shank (trying to describe them to you), and then they, along with the whole band graduates to the bigger diamonds at the bottom. When you look at the videos, and the photos, and the hand shots, they all look the same size except for the 8 on the sides holding the diamond.
Am I wrong?
And I haven't read the tutorial yet on pics..but here's the best I could do...

And just fyi..I do love it, I just thought the diamond melee was the same all around the band!

And here's one side shot..hope it helps?

I think I understand what you're saying.

The ring in the video, the band looks consistently the same width all the way around.

Your ring's side profile, the band looks like it's slightly wider towards the bottom. Is this what you're talking about?

It's a strange thing but better people than me will know why it's made that way. I wonder though if it's a good thing, maybe your band will be slightly more protected from bending out of shape?

Yes!!! That's what I mean! The band at the top is extremely narrow, while it and the diamonds widen to the bottom. They go almost all the way around leaving a blank part of the shank at the very bottom.

Here's another shot..

If it was me, at the very least, I would contact the vendor and let them know your observations (your last two pics were helpful in showing it). Also ask them if that's the way they intended to make it. The other question is, do you prefer that it be of a consistent width all the way around?

Edited to delete: who was the vendor?

Thanks so much! I did contact the vendor today to ask about the width of the band, but he was out. I would've preferred it to be like the photos/videos/and hand shots that were shown, and thought maybe my untrained eye missed the fact that the band is smaller at the top and widens at the bottom. But I went to HD again, and looked again at the jewelers site, and it doesn't appear to show that the band is smaller at the top. Maybe this is standard? Any thoughts guys?

Could some of you take a look at HenriDaussi.com, engagement collection, about the 20th ring, # H20 or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F67RGpm22PA and tell me what you think? Did this newbie miss something?

Thanks! :wavey:
