First and foremost Thank You All For Being Here! I picked up my ring yesterday (bought the rock and setting seperately)and hurried to this site to play with the "Cut Advisor" and as much as I have learned from this site ..well I missed a few things .. here''s what I do have . It''s GIA

Shape: Round Brilliant
Meas: 7.08 - 7.17 - 4.44m
Weight: 1.39
Depth: 62.3
Table: 56%
Girdle: Medium to thick, Faceted
Cutlet: None
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Clarity: VS2
Color: G
Flourescence: None
Comments: Additional pinpoints are not shown

So that''s it. I paid 7,500 for the ''rock''. I was a little dissapointed to see the word ''good appear twice on the certificate ... didn''t have a chance to read it before purchase... It looks beautiful and sparkly but I wanted to use "The Cut Advisor" and couldn''t because there is no listings for ''Crown or Pavllion'' on this GIA certificate ... Help, I have been reading this column for awhile now and want to play!

but now I can''t. Question: How do I get this info? .... I don''t know if shopping for a diamond or this reading this site is more addictive!!!!
Thanks for all your help. Lauren

GIA certs do not have this info. You need to get a Sarin or Megascope report for those numbers. I think you probably should have gotten those prior to purchasing, but they may still give them to you, if they have them. The problem lies in the fact that if it's already set, AND they don't have those reports, it needs to be loose to get those numbers.
Got any pics? People LOVE pics!
Congrats!

I am no expert but I have read many GIA certifcates. I say this stone will not get a score less than 2 on HCA. It's just an average cut.

I think the most important part of your purchase is the fact that you find the stone sparkly and beautiful. There is nothing yet invented that equals viewing the stone in person. Enjoy your stone, it sounds lovely! ~song

Hi, Lauren: If the stone is indeed GIA, you should be able to call GIA and get the crown/pav angles from them. They don't put the info on their certs, but they have the information from the evaluation. You'll need to identify that you are the owner of the diamond for them.
