Just wanted to pass along a long overdue thanks to all in the PS community who helped me in the process of educating myself and selecting a diamond and ER.
Many thanks to the fine folks at Whiteflash. I am very happy with the diamond:
1.285 G SI1 A Cut Above H&A http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/Diamond_Details.aspx?idno=1466977
Also thanks to the craftsmen at Verragio who cast the ring:
Style ENG-0264 - http://www.goodoldgold.com/setting/VRG-ENG-0264/
(Sorry, but GOG was the only on-line link I could find showing the style)
And also thanks to Kim at A R Morris Jewelers in Wilmington, Delaware for all her help in putting it all together:

Also a big thank you to Accredited Gem Appraisers. I bought the Idealscope Pro kit from them and it came in very handy to examine not only the WF ACA stone but also the stones from A R Morris (one of whose stones came in a close second to the WF stone).
After the proposal we took the ring to Mike Jordan at AGA for the appraisal. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed both his company and all the great info we learned when he appraised our ER. I was very happy that he was very impressed with the ring and that it appraised for about 50% more than my cost, a price that was lower than the low end of what he estimated one would have paid for it.

Though the proposal was not a surprise, as my soon-to-be wife was very involved in selecting the Verragio setting (we shopped together and she narrowed it to two...I made the final selection on the setting and picked the diamond), it was nevertheless a big moment when I proposed at a local park on the moonlit evening of November 12th. We are now preparing for the big day, October 3rd, 2009.
The ring has garnered 100% positive responses from all who have seen it. Many have gone out of their way when we see them again days after they first saw it to mention how stunning it is. People seem drawn to it like a giant magnet! It really sparkles! I hope to post some pics, but so far I have not had any luck getting my digital camera to be able to focus on the ring....very frustrating!!! Any advice?
Thanks again to everyone!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
