All -
first off, thanks again for your assistance with this purchase. I had Good Old Gold hold onto the ring until yesterday because I knew that I''d be proposing this weekend and wanted it kept in the safest place possible. The ring arrived this morning, and it looks great. (Better even than in the pictures I posted on that last thread back on June 2). The stone looks bigger than I expected it would, and definitely faces up nice and "white."
Several weeks ago, I asked my girlfriend to go away with me this weekend since it is the first weekend both of us are free after an extended period of long hours at work. I am hoping that she does not know what is coming (but she is so on-the-ball that it won''t shock me if she is not surprised!) Multiple obstacles threatened to derail this weekend''s timing, but it''s on for real.
The weather here in NY is really rainy at the moment, and my thought was to propose tomorrow evening, somewhere outdoors, with a view of the Hudson River - - not sure if we will be standing in 3 inches of mud, or what - preferably not! (No worries, I will improvise if needed).
Will let you know how it goes after the weekend.
Again, thanks so much!
