That diamond looks amazing, I am sure it''ll look even better once it''s mounted on the ring.

The ring you mentioned from Verragio:

ENG0069P

is the same exact ring I have been dreaming about for the last few months and after talking to few Verragio stores, I know that that ring does come with princess, round and baguette shaped diamonds under the center. So if you are still interested I would find out which other options it comes with. A local store told me that they only display small amount of their collections on their web site and they are known for their custom works.

Let me know how it goes...

Well, I have been speaking with Pete at length about this setting and just got my CADs back yesterday. I spoke with Verragio and some jewelers about this setting and one of the big problems I had with it is that it''s about 5.7mm at the top. Through careful questioning, I found out that my girlfriend really wouldn''t be happy with something close to 6mm wide. On top of that, since my stone is only about 6.6mm on a side I was worried that it would make it look smaller than I wanted. Not that it''s not a beautiful setting for any size stone, just not the precise look I was going for! I really want everything about this ring to be perfect (like everyone else on this board

)

Quest was able to get the size down to 5mm at it''s widest point and we''re going to be putting square emerald cut diamonds below it (not emeralds

) so hopefully it turns out nice. Here is one of the CADs. He said he was going to use this CAD to make a silicone mold or something so the prongs are high enough that he can manipulate them, and after it''s cast he will go back and smooth everything out. When it''s done it should look a lot smoother and more feminine than this CAD implies. What do you think? The CAD shows princess cuts but it''ll be ~3/4ct square emeralds.

The best part is I have been telling her for months that the most I could afford is a half carat diamond on a simple white gold band, even though she wanted some tiny sidestones. She said she''d be happy with whatever I get her since she loves me...can''t wait to see her reaction

WE can''t wait to see that gorgeous diamond set into a bridge setting!!

Thank God for this place! It''s nice to be able to talk about the steps in the process. Not that my future fiancee isn''t going to have to hear about every part of the process after I propose

Crap, I resized it or something when I exported from my photo software. Here''s a larger version (hopefully)

So...heard from Pete today and the ring is done! I was not expecting to get it until mid-August at the earliest so this really came as a surprise!

Other than chatting a little bit about these CADs we didn''t discuss the design at all...I hope it turned out OK

He didn''t know how to send me a pic of the finished product so he''s shipping it overnight so I can take a look ad send it back if there are problems. Not going to sleep well tonight...

WOW, killer asscher and so glad to hear that Rich is doing well. He used to hang around here and I miss him!!!

Can''t wait to see pics of the finished ring!!!

LOVELY! Congratulations on the purchase! Your lady should be very pleased.

So, Quest was good to work with? My SO is in Alexandria for the rest of the summer and Fairfax is a doable drive for him, and I LOVE asschers.

Did you work with them in person or just online?

So far they have been awesome! Pete is very responsive and makes you feel like you are his only customer. Just by talking to him you can tell that he''s not trying to pull something. Prices were incredibly competitive too...I was initially looking at other PS vendors but Pete said to let him try to get my business on the stone. He came back with a price on the diamond that was below the lowest price I could find on the PS search tool.

So far I''ve only worked with him over the phone...I imagine the experience in person is even better. I''ll probably be visiting shortly...

Thanks all! Just got the ring in today...what do you think? You can''t tell from these pictures, but the diamond is just a tad off center so I''m sending it back to have it adjusted and sized. It was awesome to have it in hand though and be able to see all the hard work finally wrapping up.
