Glad it all went well and you are back with us Rod

Thanks Lorelei.......You can''t imagine how frustrating it was to put your life in storage and move into a dinky, 700 square foot, fully furnished apartment from our beautiful 3700 square foot custom home on the water. At least we can walk to shops and restaurants and the Gym, which will be pretty nice.

I missed all my friends on PS and am so glad to be connected to the world again. What on earth did we do before Al Gore invented the internet????????????? LOL
I can imagine the move was frustrating Rod, but it will be great once you have settled in and have all those fun places so close. I was just thinking too the other day, how did we manage before the internet??? It has been such a lifeline for me, especially recently.

Welcome back Rob. We missed you!!! Glad the move is OVER!!! Hope ya''ll have settled in okay.

Hi Rod. Greetings from Tampa, as my spouse and I live here too. How ''bout this cold weather the last few days? Great, huh?

Congrats for getting healthy, and your 25 years with your partner. I remember reading your posts while you were going through the buying process, and the exchange between you and Mara after she saw your stone in Houston during her visit.......loved it.

Anyway, I also got a beautiful diamond ring from Whiteflash recently, for a 20th anniversary/retirement gift. I really need to have the ring sized up to 5 1/4, from a 5. I should''ve had it done at the time I ordered, but it was an afterthought. Oh well...... Would you care to share with me what jeweler you are using to do your platinum work? I really don''t have a business relationship with a local jeweler anymore, and would love a recommendation if you are comfortable with it.

Enjoy your new place! Bayshore offers a super view, no? We also live in South Tampa.

waves to Diamond Mo and Rod. I live in Tampa, well, actually, North Brandon. I totally sympathize with the moving stuff, we bought our first home last year around this time. A huge pain in the @$$ but it will be better soon!

congrats on the bayshore place. It must be really nice!! :)

P.S.

Rod, my husband had his platinum ring resized in Sarasota by someone Rich Sherwood recommended. I can''t find the seam, even under a loupe. It was the Stymar studio, 1666 Main St, Sarasota, 34236 (941) 953-3278. They were fast and super professional.

Hey Mo.......Greetings this afternoon from Atlanta, where up for business through tomorrow afternoon. I think you may have me slightly mixed up with Stephan. Stephan had his ring made by WF and Mara wrote how stunning the stone and setting were. My ring was made by Cappello and Company in Belleaire Bluffs (near Clearwater). They did a fantastic job for me.

Bayshore will have a wonderful view. We''re moving in the Alagon, which has been under construction for what seems the better part of our lives. Someday, we will be able to appreciate the view. We also love to skate, so being able to walk our front door and skate Bayshore Blvd., every day of the week will be really exciting.

Again, thanks for the hello. It''s nice to know there are PS''ers nearby.

Take care...........

Pinkflamingo.........Nicel to meet you as well. As you can see from above, we haven''t made it into our new home on Bayshore yet, but we''re hoping for mid-May. And yes, moving is an absolute pain in the A$$.

Thanks and take care.........

Gosh Belle.......Thanks so much. I''ve had a good run at life so far and now that I''m in my second half of my life, I''m going to have an even better run!!

Thanks again...........

Did you end up resizing? Have you ever used sizing beads in the band? (I still have no idea what they look like, but I''ve been told they work well for fingers that vary over seasons, and time.)

How is a blue diamond treated to make it blue? Is blue the only color choice? Does having a diamond treated to another color make it more expensive, or less?

I''ve never seen a stone like that blue one. Truly unique.

OOOOOPS. Wow, sorry about that; it was Stephan, now that I think about it. However, if nothing else I posted had a point (lol), I took the opportunity to say hi to a neighbor! :)

Enjoy your new place, which looks like it is going to be verrry nice, by the way!

Hi........I'm waiting for warmer weather before deciding to resize or not. For some reason, I'm having a difficult time deciding to cut into my perfect platinum ring
11.gif

The blue diamond was created by using a process called HTHP, High Temperature High Pressue. It's much like what mother nature is capable of, only using a controlled environment. The newer processes are more reliable and the results more predictable. The blue stone was a very nicely cut stone to begin with and it was not less costly than my white stone. Having a stone treated to a different color will not likely cost more or less, from what we learned.

There are other threads on colored diamonds on this forum. While there are some who are opposed, I'm obviously not opposed to treating a diamond to be a color that you want.

Thanks for asking........

Hey all, not that it matters much to anyone, but of course me., I finally decided to have my ring resized and I picked it up today. I shouldn''t have waited so long. I can''t see any solder joint and the ring looks exactly as it did the day I picked it up new, only now it finally fits the finger it was intended to fit!
36.gif
.

I guess having a talented platinumsmith in the first place makes all the difference.

Anyway, I did it finally, and I''m glad I did.

Cheers to everyone and I hope you have a great weekend!!

Good for you! I know that this is terribly late, but congratulations on you new all the good fortune in your life! I am sure that your ring looks stunning

Rod,

I just wanted to apologize to you. I remember that at one point I asked you a question about whether or not you went to the gym with your wife (I think we were all talking about who motivates us to get to work out).... Now having read this thread, I realize that I had made an assumption. And now I feel like an idiot. I think if I had read some of your posts more carefully, or read some older threads, I could have prevented this. So I''m sorry -- I hope you took no offense.

And congratulations to you and your partner on 25 years - that is incredible! I am impressed that you and he can work together, live together, and share each others'' lives absolutely 24/7... and you hit the gym together... my goodness, that IS a lot of time together : )

Again, sorry for making assumptions... and btw... glad your ring came back to you safe and sound!

Congrats Rod! Now you can show off that gorgeous 60/60 on your ring finger! Congrats on both turning 50 and the 25 years!!

Thank you so much!! I have so much in my life to be grateful for!! My ring is really pretty and I''m proud to be it''s custodiian for a few decades (or until I succumb to shrinkage and have to upgrade!) Thanks again.

Good for you Rod. I''m happy it fits you better now. Can we get some more pics of your stunning ring??? PP??

Oh Aussie......Dear Aussie.......ABSOLUTELY no apologies are necessary, nor was I ever offended in any way. I realize you meant nothing in assuming I have a wife. To be honest, my sexuality doesn''t, define me or my partner. It''s who we are, and we are blessed that my company, my employee''s, my family and my friends have never had an issue with who we are. And how lucky for us that we''ve been blessed with (now) 26 years together and we''re both in the best health and shape of our lives!!

Again, please do not feel I was offended in any way. But, you are very special to write and apologize.

Your friend.........Rod

Rod,

Of course your sexuality doesn''t define you, but to me, having my boyfriend referred to as a woman would be irritating at the least.

And now I feel silly teasing you about staring at women wearing only their sports bras... How much more wrong could I have been??

And yes, I want to see more pictures of your ring too : ) Your avatar is too small to do it justice!

Ill try Lisa. Funny thing is that I bought a Nikon D70 Single Lense Reflex Digital camera (aren''t we supposed to buy the ring and the camera at the same time??
31.gif
) and I bought a really good Macro lens and yet, I can''t seen to take a decent picture of either ring to save my life. I''m amazed at some of the pictures some other PS''ers show though.

I''ll make an effort to take some pics over the weekend and post them. If I could just figure out how to capture the magic my pet rock shows at Starbucks in the shade of the Century Old Florida Oak tree. It''s magic I''m telling you, simply magic!! I drink more coffee just to sit under this tree on a sunny day than I should, that''s for sure.

Your friend........Rod

LOL......I did think that was funny, but then there I was on the fitness thread in the Ladies In Waiting forum. Go figure.........LOL

PS: I do appreicate beauty, including ladies, who have exercised enough, to look good in their sports bras!!!!

Now, some ladies and gentleman should avoid tight fitting gym clothes at all costs, if you know what I mean

if there were a way to capture the magic of filtered lighting that shade trees provide, i think more people would easily understand the importance of cut. this is one of my very favorite ways to view a diamond. they look so alive!

so glad your ring fits as intended rod. may you wear it in good health.

keep practicing with that camera! we definitely need more pics!!
