Hi all,

I have been doing some research on GOG''s website and I have to say that I was very impressed and am now seriously considering buying my stone from them. Have any of you had any experiences with GOG and if so, were they positive?

Thanks for everyones help.

He he! You could run a search for "GoodOldGold" on the "Show me the ring" forum and end up with a HD-full of positive feedback

Sure you know that the master of that shop goes by the (avatar) name "Rhino" here.

The diamonds at GOG definitely come with the most testing and cut grading around. It would be hard to argue against that info-load ! And their "drop-ship" prices come rather competitive, if one decides to consider some of the info redundant after all.

I agree....don't hesitate...the prices together with the quality and policies can't be beat. I purchased a stone from GOG last saturday!!!

I too, purchased a diamond a few weeks ago and not fa-nuttin' (slipping back into my childhood NY accent

), Jon and the crew made me feel very comfortable in my purchase.

For me, feeling comfortable in the purchase was almost as important as the purchase itself. And I'll even say that, had I gone with an RB instead of the Jubilee, I probably could have gotten it cheaper somehwere else.

But I probably wouldn't have felt as comfortable and confident. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Jon & his staff are top rate. But don't forget to look at Whiteflash and NiceIce. While, I didn't purchase from them, I consider them high quality, informative, and extremely helpful as well. Hopefully I can throw them some business in the future!

I am a very satisfied customer of Good Old Gold! I do not think you should have any concerns about working with them!

I purchased a stone from GOG a few weeks back. Overall it was a positive experience, but at times I felt like maybe they were getting too busy/big, and didn't know how to handle it. When I emailed questions to non-Jonathan contacts, a few times I didn't get a response and had to resend/follow up with a call (they acknowleged that they had received my original inquiries).

Potential buyers, please note, if not working directly with Jon/Rhino... or when working with him and his e-mail decides to crap out... always, always call them directly.

I'm not dissin' them, yo.

They run a regular storefront and are very busy, but if you get 'em on the horn, then they'll answer everything they can.

PS: I also remember him saying he was planning on hiring someone to handle internet inquiries more efficiently.

I just started working with GOG and Jonathan in the last week or so on an oval diamond and he's been great. Really fast responses, sometimes within minutes. And i can even admit that i can sometimes be annoying and ask a whole lotta questions (especially when i don't read the whole email). And no matter what i ask i get an answer back.

Hello

Also GOG customer. Couldn't be happier!

Ste232: I think we're all annoying....and it's hard not to feel bad about it ... but this is a big, meaningful purchase for a lot of people...so I think they almost expect us to be annoying!

I sure did a good job!

I have just received my completed ring...today!!! About a month ago, I started annoying Jonathan and Christen over at GOG about buying a stone. I completed my purchase with them about 2 weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. Jonathan answered all my questions thoroughly. Christen was also pleasant to deal with and she accomodated all my requests and answered my questions. I was a little weary doing business over the internet for this kind of unique purchase but compared to going retail, I actually enjoyed the experience. Go for it! There are many good dealers on the internet/retail, but I can tell you that my personal dealings with GOG were top-notch.

GOG is really great. Johnathan handles all the diamond-related business. I bought a stone & ring from him in March and I am, overall, quite pleased. He is prompt, knowledgable, and patient.

Like Wizzy, I had some setting-related confusion (dealing with some other people than Jonathan), but some of us brought this to Jonathan's attention in April and he's made strides to correct it.

Without a doubt, I would reccommend GOG to others. I like the presentation of the website and all the information you get with the stone. I also like the fact that he has a store as well. If I ever want service, I have somewhere to go, unlike an outfit like Blue Nile.

Annoying?!?!?!

Ya'll can annoy me all day long.

NONE of you have been annoying and all of us at GOG/UDIS are grateful for the kind words shared. ChrisUK, yes we have taken steps to correct this and so far it has been going extremely well. We've made navigation on our site easier than it used to be and a new form inquiring for settings has been made which gets a much quicker response from Marie who now handles all setting inquiries and is here everyday. The only things that can cause slight delays now is if more research has to be done to answer questions or if email is sent over our weekend (Sunday/Monday although Marie is here on Monday's to handle her jobs). Other than that we are becoming more of a well oiled machine.

So let me please take this opportunity to thank you not only for the kind words but also for the constructive criticism.

Warm regards,

I really like Marie!...and who is that young gal with the shoulder length dark hair? She was super awesome with re: the my setting!!!!

Altho I haven't recvd my ring from GOG yet they have been EXTREMELY wonderful to deal with! Jonathan was kind enough to hold the stone I had picked out a few extra weeks when my son had a serious dirtbike accident. Not many would have done that considering he could have sold it to someone else right away and been paid much sooner. And you can also add me to the "annoying" list, emailing Marie with "is it in yet? is it in yet? is it in yet?" about my setting. Any day now..........

I'm in the process of buying a diamond. Jonathan and GOG have been great to work with.

positive?
Heck, jonathan is the only guy that would send me a $26k stone without me paying for it. LOL. the most important thing is when you buy from an online vendor, make sure they have the stone on hand. so they can describe it to you in detail. there's no way they can accurately describe the stone just based on the paper work. plus, you should gather as much information as you can about the stone. jonathan he answered all my questions, even though i annoy him, i even grabbed him by his rhino horn. infact, another vendor has a stone that was more inline with what i was looking for. but, he was somewhat rude, so i took my business to gog . and ended up buying an h si1 3.34 ct from jonathan. he has all those high tech toys so i got information on the stone.I know in the future when i need to buy more stones, GOG would be the first one I would call.

p.s.
let me tell you a little secret jonathan is not the real boss MA MA is.... LOL.
