I have the opportunity to buy the following at what seems like a good price and could use some opinions on the price and quality.

Platinum x prong setting with 1 carat diamond 5700 gbp:

Weight: 1.00 Carat
Meas: 6.34-6.39 x 3.90mm
Depth: 61.3%
Table: 66%
Girdle: Medium to Thick
Culet: None
Polish: V. Good
Symmetry: V. Good
Clarity: VVS2
Colour: F
Flu: None
Crown angle greater than 35 degrees
GIA Cert.

Thanks in advance for feedback.:wink2:

you could always have it recut to an acceptable looking .90ct diamond.
Do a price search based on that carat weight and allow about $500 for the recut and work to fit the smaller diamond into the mount. This diamond could actually be very nice looking if set upside down :)

(Soorry, feeling a little cheeky tonight)

Thanks for the response Cut Nut.

So I take it the diamond is not such a good cut. As a novice I could use some help - What particularly makes this diamond "bad"? The diamonds I have seen so far only have the details of the Table and Depth (standard GIA info). I'm pretty set on a certificated 1 carat, F, VVS2. What characteristics (% and stuff) should I be looking for?

Thanks:confused:
