Sooooooo......I am contemplating upgrading my 2.11 RB H SI2 GIA for a 2.39 RB H SI2 AGS0

Specs on the 2.11:
Shape: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 8.15 x 8.19 x 5.10 mm
Carat Weight: 2.11 carats
Color Grade: H
Clarity Grade: SI2 (pretty eyeclean and I am SUPER picky)
Cut Grade: EXCELLENT
Finish
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: Strong Blue....definitely a bit "blue" in direct sunlight
Scores a 1.6 on the HCA

The 2.39 is 8.64 x 8.69mm, NO fluorescence, is a AGS0 and is supposed to be SUPER eyeclean..only a few inclusions on the edges, I saw the plot on the AGS report and it looked waaaaaaaayyyy better than my current GIA H. LOL, it ALSO scores a 1.6 on the HCA.

So, the "great deal" is that I give them $9k and my diamond......Deal or a rip off waiting to happen??? Also will the AGS0 measurements really face up THAT much bigger than my current GIA H?

need a lot more spec detail to tell you more - is your current stone also 1.6HCA ?
the new stone spreads +1% bigger than its weight and your old stone spreads -4% - so yes, you will get about an extra 1/2 ct effect.
You can do your own $ calculations - but it seems fair

Thanks for the response Garry....I always look forward to reading your posts (I am a lurker not a poster on here)
Yes, BOTH my current GIA and the potential trade up AGS0 are a 1.6 on the HCA....ironic isn't it?

I just got the specs for the AGS0....

2.394 ct.
Measurements:8.64 x 8.69 x 5.25mm
Depth:60.7
Table:57
Crown:34.6
Pavilion: 40.9
Cutlet: None/Pointed
Fluorescence: None
AGS Ideal 0

Specs on my current GIA:
2.11 ct.
Measurements: 8.15 x 8.19 x 5.10mm
Depth: 62.4
Table: 56
Crown Angle: 35
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Cutlet: None/Pointed
Fluorescence: Strong Blue
Girdle: Thin to slightly thick,faceted(4.0%)
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good

Am I correct to assume that a huge portion of the $9K "upgrade" is because the AGS has no fluor and is....well...an AGS0

I just was told that this is a "great deal" (Aren't they all, lol??)

Looks good from the numbers for both stone. Several factors for the 9k upgrade, weight, AGS0 commands its own premium usually, a symm grade increase of Ideal from VG and the fluor.

Yup!

I am very curious to see what they will look like side by side as far as the WOW factor....I just want to make sure 9K plus my diamond is really is a great deal and not just an OK one, know what I mean? You guys are the best......

Both have excellent numbers but with the new diamond AGS0 almost always has a price premium, it is considerably bigger and strong blue fluorescence can entail a discount with the old diamond. All of these and more can mean a price difference between the two.

I would check with SI2 clarity as to what the grade making inclusions are such as feathers, clouds etc. Clouds can be problematic in some SI clarities by impacting brilliance and performance so check before you pull the trigger if this is the case.

It is a lot of money for the price increase, if you can see both stones side by side then you will know if spending the extra is worth it to you.
