Good deal or not?

One of my friend is offering me a pair of diamond stud for $4000. They don’t have a GIA cert but it has an appraisal report. Is it trustable?

Per the search tool above, GIA graded princess cut stones in the G-H color range, VS clarity range can Be had for under $2k each. So you could get graded diamonds with better clarity for about $4k. Not a deal at all, IMO.
