I have done some quick price searches, but I am left unsure if this is a good buy due to the table size and depth being out of the ideal H&A range. The jeweler claims that this is an ideal cut, but is that true based on the numbers below?

$6711

Clarity: VVS2
Color: G
Weight: 1.14 carat
Brillant Cut

Depth: 63.8
Table Size: 58.5
Crown Height: 15
Pav. Depth: 45.5

6.59mm x 6.61mm x 4.21mm

It's not an Ideal. The table is close, but slightly over the top limit. The pavillion, however, is very deep. You will pay for weight you won't even see. A well cut 1 carat will have a diameter of 6.5mm. A 1.15 carat diamond should have a diameter of 6.7 to 6.8mm.

For the same money you can get a Super Ideal true H&A diamond. Use the Price Scope search engine to look specs on great diamonds with Known HCA scores.

Just click on the link, enter your color, clarity, and carat weight.

Also, clarity comes at a premium. VVS, IMHO, is overkill on clarity and costs huge bucks. You can easily consider an eye clean, SI diamond. Color costs money too. A well cut diamond will face up a lot whiter than the actual color grade. Why go F when G/H color and do perfectly well in white gold or platinum.

The stone is not an ideal make.
the stone is deep (63.8%depth) ,and the diameter is that of a 1.00 ct.,Try looking for a stone that has a depth between 59%-62% with a table between 53-57% ,cr. angles should not be greater than 35%,or less than 30%
The stone in question does have a pretty good price.
