It looks like hubby and I might be going back to Las Vegas for our 4th trip in May. Can you tell we love the place!

This trip will be because of a conference, but he''ll be done by noon or so every day. I recommend seeing "Mystere" at Treasure Island. It''s a cirque show and fantastic! Some advice for booking cirque shows is to get balcony seating...a lot of action happens in the air and you''ll either have a hard time see that, will have to look up. Also, when booking, call the box office directly...you can usually get MUCH better seats that way than what''s available on online.

I recommend going to Travel2vegas.com. It has a lot of info and a message board...it helped me a lot while planning our trip we did in August. You should also buy Unoffical Guide to Las Vegas.

If you have questions, PM me and I''ll try to help you.

Can''t help noticing that no-one is suggesting any fab shopping destinations.....I figure that there probably aren''t any real deals to be had, just excess everything!

Cool.....
There really aren''t any shopping deals in LV. The only place with "normal" shops are at the Fashionshow Mall...it''s right on the strip. The Venetian, Wynn, Alladdin, Caesar''s Palace are the best shopping in town...but it''s all really expensive designer stuff. Check out the Wynn for AMAZING jewelry!! Plenty of windowshopping and you''ll see stuff that you''re eyes won''t believe!

I think I''m going to N9ne instead of Prime at the Bellagio! And I agree with you guys about buffets, but I''m still so excited about the Bellagio buffet!
18.gif
I can''t wait to check out the ceasar''s mall!!! And I do love my slots!

And UGH...I made a reservation at one of the restaurants in the wynn before Avenue Q...and i don''t remember which one

Nine has gotten mixed reviews...I went to Prime in August and it was the BEST steak I''ve EVER had! I highly recommend it. If you go to Prime, ask for a window seat (you add add the request to your reservation. They can''t guarrantee it, but will get it if it''s available). We got a window seat and we watched the fountains all through dinner! After dinner, they have a deck overlooking the fountains...we had drinks and watched everything from there. Great view of the strip and lake.

jcrow,
We booked for the 10:30 show on Nov 30 (wednesday) - couldn''t justify the expensive tickets, so we are somewhere up in the nosebleeds...!

Are you going too? Which show?

Sorry I didn''t read this in time, because I live in Vegas, and my husband and I eat out everyday...bufets are a NO-NO...who do you think are the people that get food poisoning???...people eating at the bufett, they don''t let you know you are really ingesting a load of every nasty germ you can imagine...anyways...off on a better subject...we eat at the Belagio Cafe...outrageous food(I would know, we are there every day)...also, at the MARAGE there is a japanese restaurant called Makados...sit at the tabinyaki tables and order the shrimp and fillet minon...it is to die for...also if you go to Ceasars Palace...which has outrageous shopping, by the way...go to Bertolinis...order the Fruti de marre...it is shrimp, scallops, crab, and lobster in a cream sause over pasta...it is sooooo good...and if you want to see a show...stick to Cirque de sole shows...zumanity is outrageous...Also, for anyone comming in town...I hear there is going to be a new show called ROCKSTAR opening at Planet Hollywood (which was the Alladin)... It will have All the band members from DIO''s band, with the best rock impersonators of AC/DC, the Doors, Zepplin, and many more...also many of the real guys from kindome Come, and some other outrageous rock bands...also I hear Dio (AKA the King of Rock!!!)will be sitting in all the time...its going to be the hottest, rockingest show on planet earth...also some of the sexiest dancers in vegas...

MMM....

Vegas has a lot of stores to ogle at...The Bellagio, the Forum Shoppes, and the Wynn seemed to have the best. We saw "Avenue Q" at the Wynn and it was great!!! We saw it in NYC and the LV cast did an exceptionally wonderful job!!!!

On a bad note, I slipped and fell on the Bellagio''s low guard railing in their Conservatory and my legs look like they were beaten with a stick.....all welted and bruised. Not one staff member or security came over to check on me. I''ve written them a letter and included pictures of the bruises....It was the low point of my weekend....

On a good note, if you want to hotel hop between Downtown and opposite sides of the Strip, you don''t have to drive around anymore. There is a Double-Decker bus that travels the Strip and Downtown every 5 minutes and it costs all of $5 pp for a 24-hour period!!!! It''s so worth it as the hotels are becoming stingy with their parking....

Oh no! So sorry about your fall...I figured they would go out of their way for you in that case. Well, at least you''re "ok"... bastards....

Good to hear about the bus! We weren''t renting a car...just going to cab it...so the bus is great!

What was the weather like?

Where did you eat??

We are also going to see Ave Q!

The bus system was wonderful!!! Just make sure you have exact change ($5 per person) as the bus drivers don''t keep any money on them and it''s all electronic. You''ll get a ticket that has the time on it. We used it all weekend and left our car parked in our hotel parking structure!!! It was great!!

During the day, the weather was sunny, but cool. At night, it was windy (I hate wind) and cold. We were there when it was in the high 60s during the day and mid-40s at night.

We ate at buffets (GASP!) for the most part....they were REALLY good....Main Street Station at Downtown has been voted best buffett 2 years in a row and we liked it...we also ate at the Golden Nugget café for dinner and found a pizza joint next door to Casino Royale....we like to go for the "Cheap Eats" and spend more money on the fun, but that''s us....

You''ll LOVE Avenue Q!!!! Just know that it''s meant to offend....it''s an adult Sesame Street....We watched a couple come in late, listen to 2 songs and walk out because they were offended. If you have a good sense of humor, you''ll enjoy it!!!! Are you seeing the 6:00pm or 10:00pm showing?? We saw the 10:00pm showing and the theatre was only 1/2 full!!!!

Congrats jcrow!

You must have had a great time, no doubt!

We did too, but ofcourse we didn''t get engaged again. We stayed at MGM Grand West wing and the rooms are amazing - the beds have the extra lofty feather topping and fluffy duvets. All super mod and cool.

We like O aswell, but were blown away by Ka. Amazing fantastic! Maybe being a girl, I liked the fact that there was a story. I found O to be mentally exhausting - so much going on and never sure where to look. Still great, but loved Ka WAAAAAYYYY more. Infact, we both want to see it again!

Food options were good, but expensive. We splashed out and had Emeril''s one night and was a bit disappointed. Otherwise, we stuck to food courts and coffee shops. maybe we will try the buffets on the old strip next time.

Last but not least, I have to admit that we really enjoyed the Star Trek experience. Managed to get 1/2 price tickets at tickets2night (at the coke store) and had a really fun time. Gee, I would even do it again too!

So, great trip! Will go again.

BACK FROM VEGAS!!!! And boy am I BROKE!!!!
Had so much fun. The Bellagio and The Hotel at Mandalay were so fabulous!!!! The Hotel was SO dark though. I had to iron in the bathroom so i could see what i was doing.
20.gif

The Bellagio Buffet was really good (much better and cleaner than some of these dives in Queens, NY)...Prime (window seat Oryaba!!!!) was my favorite. So beautiful and with a table right by the water...House of Blues sucked. Fellini's in Stratosphere (I heard about it on the internet) was really good too. Love Jean Philippe Patisserie and the Chocolate Swan. YUM!!! OMG- The Burger Bar for lunch (prime steak burger with provolone and carmelized onions...OMG)
O was just mind blowing so i'll definitely check out Ka!

4 full days is 1 day too many...but it was a great trip. Best part was coming home to my three kitties clinging to me now .... I can tell we were missed. I missed them so much it might not be normal...LOL...I called the "pet sitter" LOL every night...
41.gif

I have some pix of the rooms and bathroom and water show at the Bellagio (had a view from the room).

Another high point of the trip was getting a phone call from Mark telling me the .94 id/id g Si2 I'm getting for a pendant is eye clean and a lively stone
