Hello everyone,
First thank you for such a wealth of great information within these forums. I am currently searching through the many diamonds online across the various vendors. I am set on finding a GCAL 8X or IGI H&A LGD in the range of 1.8 - 2.1 carat. Ideally, spending under $3k. I feel I understand the basics for well cut diamond after scouring the discussions but I can’t seem to determine whether a diamond has “good material “. It seems difficult to see graining. At this point I feel I may just be over analyzing. I have found numerous GCAL 8X diamonds in my price range but I am scared I may be missing a red flag. The talk of CVD vs HPHT has made me hope to find a 8X HPHT but they seem to be rare things. When I look at the videos of even the 8X CVDs they don’t look as clear. Any advice for discerning a good material diamond beyond the ideal dimensions for cut is greatly appreciated. Here are a few of many dozen I’ve continued to look at for a possible purchase.
