But the light return diagrams will tell me, right? Or at least give me an idea of how the stone should perform.

I know GOG will do all this for me, but I also want to be able to know what I'm looking at to some degree. I trust them totally but would feel weird spending $10k on a stone that I'm taking someone's word for is a "great choice" without having any idea what their referring to

I research everything...it's exhausting but must.find.best.emerald.for.price lol

Yes, knowing how to read the ASET and understanding their limitation and helpfulness is a good thing.

Yes! I just all of last night researching ASET and the IdealScope. I feel pretty good about how to interpet those readings.

Also, THANK YOU so much for the estimated EC dimension guide. That has been immensely helpful when I look at those compared to the diamonds depth/stone to see where the stone is off and what that could potentially mean.

I'm off today to look at EC's in person to try and figure out what carat size I'm truly happy with
