Yay, I''m so glad you bought it, that stone is so gorgeous! You HAVE to post more pics of it!

So since you''ve purchased the ring and this thread alreay seems to have gone through a bit of threadjackage (haha that word looks ridiculous) I hope you won''t mind if I threadjack for a quick question to Rhino.

Rhino, if you read this, I am in LOVE with your august vintage cushions. I check your website at least once a week for new OMC''s for sale or new videos of them up. If I wanted to purchase a beauty like ambition has (except lower in color and a bit smaller, though I wish I could afford the lucious 1.66 she has purchased) when should I realistically contact GOG if I wish to have a stone in by next summer. I don''t want to overwhelm my FF by diamond shopping earlier than necessary (he does want to get engaged next summer he just gets a bit anxious when I start talking about seriously looking at rings) but I can tell your OMC''s are in high demand now that the final design has been released. I don''t want to have to push back the engagement because the waiting list is longer than we expected. What''s your honest opinion? Thanks!

Ambition, I''m with Cehrabehra in being super jealous. If you return that stone I will seriously question your mental state hehe. That stone is a KNOCKOUT!

Phew thank god you bought it, it''s gorgeous!!!! I can''t wait to see how you have it set!!! Keep us posted!! Please. Congrats!!!

Hi Callisto,

In answer to your questions.

To play safe give yourself a 2-3 month time frame. There can be a good chance it may come in sooner but better to play safe. Ultimately it depends on the availability of rough. It's ok to put in requests sooner because on our list we have folks who want me to begin looking already in time frames around springtime. Soon I am going to start a blog/vlog which folks can subscribe to keep up to date on the newbies that arrive and on the latest news/videos I publish on them.

You got it and smart move with your FF.

FYI, we just finished the shooting today for a new program we'll be releasing entitled "A Consumer's Guide to Purchasing a Cushion Cut Diamond" which will of course be featuring these along with all the other varieties of cusihon's on the market and a birds eye view of what its like out here in the jungle of cushion cut buying too. Stay tuned.

Kindest regards,

I can''t believe those stones make me want to turn my back on my own precious!!!!

That giant yellow fancy stone is off the website already. That was quick!

I hope pictures of it turn up on here someday

i just wanted to give a quick update. the stone is beautiful in person! it has so much character.

we decided to go with Maytal Hannah for the setting. her work is amazing and she is really easy to work with. i tried working with Leon but it was not meant to be. perhaps another time. the ring should be finished in a week or so and i can't wait to see the finished piece!

Photos, photos, photos can''t wait for photos. Glad you love the stone. "We" knew you would

. Now the dreaded wait for the finish product to be your finger. Please post lots of photos when you get the ring

I can''t wait to see pictures!!!

I was in a rush to get the stone appraised and sent to Maytal so I did not get photos of the loose stone but will certainly take and upload a few once it gets here next week. She just sent me an update saying it should ship next wednesday or thursday!

Hey Ambition or Rhino,

If you don''t mind me asking: How much did you pay for that diamond? I really like the look of that stone and I''m looking for one just like that. Since you already bought it, the price is no longer listed on GOG, and I want to know what price range I''m looking at. Perhaps Rhino could give me the answer as well, since he''s the one who sold it! Great rock though, looks great. If you have a change of heart let me know because it caught my attention. Thanks.

I myself prefer solitaire settings and also wanted to ask if it is possible to mount that puppy in a 4 prong platinum solitaire setting. I see most are done up in fancier setting with diamond bands and diamond sidestones, but myself, I''d prefer just a classy Tiffany like 4 prong platinum setting. Not sure if a rock like that works in that type of setting though, so if you know that''d be great. Hoipefully you post the final pics because I''m looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Indeed. It is insured though so at least we''d have some recourse! Yes, there will be champagne, along with good beer and a picnic with few friends/family. Then a little soaking before celebrating with more friends and family at dinner!
