GOG appraisal question

Thanks to all of the helpful knowledge I've learned here, I've purchased a beautiful 1.3ct F VS1 H&A round diamond from Good Old Gold that I intend to have set in a petite torchiere from Mark Morrell to propose to my girlfriend with. Though I've tried to do as much research as possible, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to handle the appraisal and insurance. From what I understand, GOG provides an extremely detailed appraisal with the purchase of a diamond. Seeing as how they're a very reputable company here, I don't really have concerns about the validity of their appraisal. While it seems I can use this appraisal to get Perfect Circle's insurance, would it be recommended that I send the diamond off to an independent appraiser before having it sent to Mark for setting, or is it not really worth it? Am I supposed to get an additional appraisal after the diamond is set, and then update my insurance information? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

It is absolutely not necessary with Good Old Gold. Their insurance valuation is excellent (although I have asked them to adjust value closer to purchase price before). They will check the ring upon it's return from Mark Morrell. I have now bought 4 diamonds from GOG, and it wouldn't cross my mind to think I'd need an additional appraisal.
