Someone asked about one of many terms we tend to abbreviate. It might be a good idea to create a glossary of common abbreviations:

When you reply with additional abbreviations, copy the ones already submitted and insert your additional ones IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER.

OEC: is old European cut. Older than a modern cut, newer than an old mine cut. Round generally and sometimes pear, marquise, or oval.

OM: is old mine cut, genraly cushion shaped, never circular (round).

PS: Pear shape

RB: Round Billiant 57 facet standard cut

I am bumping this thread in an attempt to provide a more complete glossary for newer members (myself included). Personally, I would like people to list the non-diamond related abbreviations they use (DH, FI, etc.) for the benefit of others here. The list so far:

ACA: A cut above- branded diamond done by Whiteflash

EC: Emerald cut

H&A: Hearts and Arrows pattern in round diamonds

OEC: is old European cut. Older than a modern cut, newer than an old mine cut. Round generally and sometimes pear, marquise, or oval.

OM: is old mine cut, genraly cushion shaped, never circular (round).

YG: Yellow Gold

Anyone care to elaborate?????
