I am looking for a diamond for my e-ring. My budget for the diamond is about $7500. I want to get a I/J stone, VS2/SI1 (eye clean), 1.25-1.5Ct BR H&A. There have 2 stones got my attention. One is from Whiteflash and another one is from GoodOldGold. Here is the spec:

1) GOG, 1.3ct, I, VS2, Round H&A ($7400)

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1142/

2) Whiteflash, 1.282ct, I, VS1, Round ACA ($7741)

http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/diamond_Details.aspx?itemcode=AGS-6809306#

Both diamond looks pretty good (to me). Should I stick with J/VS2 or J/SI1 in order to get a little bit bigger stone? What should I expect if it is the case?

I prefer to deal with GOG since they have more setting that I like, 30 days return for diamond. But GOG would not refund the setting. Not sure the policy of resizing the ring too. I would be a little bit hesitate about that. Anyway, I received a ring sizer from bluenile and will try to measure my GF''s finger size this weekend. I hope this little plastic ring sizer would work.

I would really appreciate any advice .....Thanks

This one might be interesting to find out more about:

http://www.whiteflash.com/round/Round-cut-diamond-2351795.htm

It's listed as an ideal cut 1.5 carat, J, SI1 for $7,000.

I found a AGSL stone from bluenile (1.39ct, J, VS1, AGSL ideal 0, $6897). It seems to have a good price.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?pid=LD00919683&filter_id=0

But the comment for bluenile is mix on PS. Is there any person could give me some advise on this stone? I think AGSL stone should be pretty safe in term of quality. The HCA score is 1.5 EX, EX, EX, VG (base on the data on AGSL cert.).

Thanks,

I would forget about the BN-stone. Even with the AGS-0, it still has a girdle, which is unnecessarily too thick, unlike the two other stones.

Also, I would definitely include eye-clean H-SI2''s in your search.

How about this?? Whiteflash 1.204J VS1 RB ACA $6350

http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/Diamond_Details.aspx?idno=1332202

But when I look at the idealscope image. It have a lot fade pink in the table area without too much contrast. That means it have a lot of partial light return. But does it also means that the contrast of the return light is not very good? I am a little bit confuse.....

At 2 O''clock near the edge, there have a small region have more light leakage than the rest of the circle. Is it acceptable?

Thanks...

I believe I''ve actually seen that 1.204 J diamond in person ... it had not a lot of sparkle to it.

For what it''s worth, I like the GOG diamond you posted above. You can call GOG on Tuesday and they will send you actual-size photos.

Good luck to you in your search.

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestion. I send a e-mail to Tim @ GOG last night and today I got a very useful information (regarding my concerns and questions) from him. He also posted a new lab image since the old one is a little bit yellowish. Wonderful speed.....I like it.....

I am asking for the actual-size image now. Hope to get it soon.
