Looking at an AGS report on a H SI1 1.71K stone. Everything on the report falls into an AGS 0 with the exception of the girdle.

The girdle on the report is listed as think to thick, faceted. The copy of the report i have is difficult to read but it it either says 1.8% to 5.5% or 1.8% to 3.5% over on the dimensions.

Does either of those even fit into a thin to thick rating?

If it is 1.8% to 5.5% do i stay away from it. It is priced very good and that is the only thing i can see that would be pulling the price below other similar stones.

Will that girdle effect the stone visually?

Ill probably find out in the morning exactly what it says, but like i mentioned, i am sure about the 1.8% measurement, so it doesnt seem either would fit into the rating given to the stone.

1.8% is thin
3.5% is medium
5.5% is thick

it is hard to make any real judgements on the girdle without seeing it in person. ags reports the thinnest and thickest parts of the girdle which means one small spot could be thin, or most all of it could be thin with one thick spot. or anything in between.
if you are concerned about the girdle, have it looked at by a professional that can see the diamond.

the report i am looking at says "Diamond Quality Report" looks a little different than the "Diamond Quality Document"

What is the difference in reports? Why is one given over another. My report is dated March 16, 2006 so its not an old one or anything like that.

Doesnt show a cut grade like the document version (althought has all measurements listed). Has girdle Thin to Thick, Faceted to the left.

Usually, a DQR is given for stones of a lesser make... the cost of a DQR is less than a DQD, so if it's an AGS0, the stone will carry a premium which will off-set the higher cost of the DQD.

Does this mean that all stones with DQRs are second-tier? Depends...

WF ES AGS stones all carry DQRs. They are second-tier to the ACAs, but most are still great stones that represent value for the money.

See John Pollard's FAQ https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ags-dqd-grading-reports-old-and-new.45611/

You might be able to ask whoever ordered the report what grade the stone got for cut.
