Girdle Inscription Necessary???

Is it mandatory that AGS apply an inscription to the diamond girdle of the Diamond Quality Document Number? Is it normal to have a diamond certified by AGS without an inscription?

Yes, inscription has an additional fee, so some decide not to do it. With the right equipment, anyone can inscribe anything on the girdle, so no biggie in my opinion.
