Hi, I'm currently looking to offer a gift to my girlfriend.

She love earrings.. So I'm looking to buy her first pair of gold earring. (But I'm ready to look at a necklase too if it's beautiful.)

She's small(95lbs. 5') and love simplicity.

I'm from Canada and I never shopped for jewelry. Someone referred me to this forum.

I hope you could help me.

So far, I've found one earring that is in my budget(below 200$) and I'm sure she'll love it.

It's this pair: http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.jsp?oid=19881&pid=GE23600700

I would like to know if it's a reasonable price. and if there's somewhere else I could look for earrings at (cheaper) price than in jewelers boutiques.

Edit: We're both young adult(Hence the low budget), 19yo and we've been together for 1 year.

I've looked at Ross-Simons website and I've found some interesting pieces:

http://www.ross-simons.com/products/766365.html (I love this one.)

http://www.ross-simons.com/products/693788.html (This one look pretty.)

http://www.ross-simons.com/products/766627.html (It seem to big for her and... sillicone?!)

http://www.ross-simons.com/products/763523.html (I'm not so sure about this one. It's kind of flashy and not really classy.)

What do you think?

and It is me or the Suggested Retail Prices are kind of exaggerated?

When you say gold do you mean yellow gold or can we suggest white gold pieces too?

Yellow, Rose or White gold.

Edit: Thank you for your reply. It's appreciated.

No one can tell me if the earrings from Blue Nile are a good value? Price wise.

For price, they seem fine.

What's her style and how old is she? The earrings aren't something that I'd wear, but I suppose you're not buying for me!

She's 19yo. Love simplicity... but is fancy at the same time. Hard to explain.

The blue Nile earrings are very nice, but I think they suit better an older woman.

Same comment I did over the Blue Nile earrings.

It's silver, not gold ... and for that price I guess diamonds are not a decent quality.

Very nice, but very large. For the price, they should be about 2 grams...very light for the big dimensions, so the silicone core is necessary to keep them in shape

Not my taste.

Yes, but gold is extremely expensive in this period: you pay something about 75-90 USD/gram.

Since your girlfriend is very young, buy her something classy but also joyful, not too serious... and, when purchasing, stay under your budget because you have to pay taxes and shipping.
Best to you,
Purplesilk.

Hi,

Tell us a bit more about your GF,That will help find something that will suit her. Its so important to get jewelry that suits her personality.
1-what does she normally wear? Is she a hoody and jeans kinda girl or stilettos and a sequined dress?
2-Another big point is does she mostly wear yellow jewelry or white/silver (most people have a preference)?
3-does she wear dangly earrings or studs mostly?

and if all of the above is unknown they go for classical, plain and simple.

I would personally stay clear of those knots from bluenile, they are perfectly nice and well priced but they are something my mother would wear and not me.

Here are some things that I wouldn't mind turning up in my xmas stocking....

Also no girl has ever turned down an nice pair of diamond studs/hoops...

I hope this helps :)

1- She's more the kind of girl wearing hoodies and jeans.
2- I'm not sure for that question... I could check today.
3- She clearly told me she doesn't like dangly earrings. She always wears studs.. or tiny, tiny hoop earrings.

Ok, now we know her a little better...

...so, what about pearl studs?

Or ball gold studs?

The earrings I posted are quite common,so, if you can, visit some local jewellers...
