I just happened to be checking their fee schedule today when I discovered that GIA now accepts FCD's that are even 1 point for colored diamond identification and origin report. It used to be that they would not grade stones smaller than 0.05ct I believe. It is also interesting that they offer laser inscription services for stones that are a point and up too. It's really inexpensive at $12 for stones up to 0.99ct, but larger stones incur a higher laser inscription fee. My thought is that it would be harder to laser inscribe a smaller stone rather than a larger one, but what do I know.
