Hello,

I am debating between two diamonds and base on your expert advice, which one would you pick?

For simplicity, let's say these are 2 carats vs2 no fluorescence and everything else is identical except for the measurements below.

option A: GIA TRIPLE EX
table: 58
depth: 58.9
crown angle: 33
pavilion angle: 41
lower pavilion: 80
star facet: 50

option B: GIA TRIPLE EX
table: 55
depth: 62.3
crown angle: 34
pavilion angle: 41
lower pavilion: 75
star facet: 50

My personal preference wouldn't be for either of these stones, but if I had to choose based on the numbers alone, I choose the second (I think..). You really need an Ideal scope image to determine if there is any leakage in either of them. What are the dimensions?

Need pics, but B is somewhat more promising combo.

Yes, B is more promising. Need magnified image of the stone and an idealscope image, if possible.

Thanks everyone for your input. I had a typo on the first options (DOH).

Does anyone know anything about fish eye? i hear a shallow depth will cause that. is the depth for this diamond too shallow?

option A: GIA TRIPLE EX
table: 58
depth: 59.9 ====>> it was originally written 58.9
crown angle: 33
pavilion angle: 41
lower pavilion: 80
star facet: 50

That doesn't really affect our choice of B having the better numbers. If you look at a vendor that carries super-ideal cuts, you'll see that the stones almost always have a crown angle that falls between 34 and 35 and a pavilion angle that falls between 40.6 and 41.0, table about 54-58 and depth 60-62.3%. I use those numbers as a guide when I search for GIA graded stones.
