Hi

I just noticed that my GIA certificate states the following:

Additional clouds are not shown
Surface graining is not shown

I''m concerned these might be issues. I haven''t seen the diamond in person, but the idealscope looked perfect and the JA gemologist stated that the diamond exhibited great brilliance, and scintillation. The diamond has "very good" polish. Is this something i should worry about?

Thanks

Clouds are only normally an issue in SI clarity grades if they set the grade, the only time clouds not shown in the comments section can be a problem is if it says ' clarity grade is based on clouds which are not shown.' The key is if clouds set the grade in SI clarities to check them out carefully.

Thanks Lorelei,

I was worried those GIA cert comments were something bad. Do you happen to know what they mean though. will the surface of the diamond show graining as per the comments? The James Allen correspondent told me their gemologist said the GIA cert was overstating the clouding and inclusions. I''ve got a few more days to wait for my e-ring to arrive, so i''ve become rather anxious.

Thanks

Shouldn''t be anything to worry about, '' not shown'' with surface graining or clouds usually means they are mentioned for the sake of completeness and are not a problem.

Oh Lorelei,

I don''t know what we would all do without you. Thanks again for calming my nerves!
