I'm about to enrol a GIA coloured stones course in Bangkok and I've been warned about their lack of expertise about treated gems.Anyone has an opinion about it??It seems like a very important topic to me.The other alternative is the AIGS (Asian Institute of Gemological Studies),any info about this school would be welcome.
Cheers!

No school treats gems. They must learn about these treatments after the stones enter the market usually. If you wanted to know about treatments, you'd need to work for gemstone treaters in order to gain their first hand knowledge.

The GIA and AIGS offer the most up to date information to most of the world. What they terach may be a year or 6 months old, but it is worth knowing. There is no end to learning once you graduate either.
