Getting my Ring 4.19 Ring Set

So I just purchased a 4.19 F SI1 totally eyeclean round brilliant with optics to die for. In fact, this stone just misses the H&A Mark. Gia Excellent and Excellent, Ideal Cut and 1.1 on the HCA, scored a triple very high etc.. . I am setting it in a 3 sided micro pave setting with diamonds going up the prongs but not on the tip of the prongs. The stone will be done next saturday. Total carat weight will be approximately 6.5 carats. The setting is being done by Michael B. This ring is an upgrade from the 3.095 E VS2 H&A I previously purchased for my wife from Jonathan at Goodoldgold - great guy to work with by the way, definitely recommend him. Can''t wait for the pics. She is giong to be ecstatic.

From the description of the new ring, are you sure your wife isn't Beyonce or J.Lo!! Sounds drop dead gorgeous - and a Michael B. setting as well.

We just picked up the ring this past weekend from Michael B in Studio City. They are great to work with. Aida, Michael''s wife is very sweet and very helpful. My wife had a chance to meet Michael for the first time. I met met him when I had her first ring set. He is a great guy and was so friendly as was his son Matthew. In fact, the whole staff there was amazing. Michael is a perfectionist and really values the craftsmanship of his work. On wife wife''s previous setting, one of the micro pave diamonds fell out and rather than replacing the diamond he made us a whole new setting which retails for approximately $11,800. Regarding her new stone, Michael made it a point to be there when we picked it up. He said to us that no matter what we do, never ever trade in that stone. He said the stone was amazing and we were very lucky to find it. By the way, for anyone interested in Michael B settings or jewerly, they are having a 35% sale in December on everything in the store. Since we picked up the ring, my wife is amazed at how many more compliments she gets on this ring than she did on her previous ring (a 3.095 H&A E VS2 purchased from Jonathan at GOG) which was set in an identical setting. It is truly amazing how much bigger the stone looks than her previous 3.095 carat stone and even more amazing at how many more compliments she gets - which isn''t to say that she did not receive compliments before. As soon as I get around to it, I will take some PICS of the stone at varioius angles and wll post for all to see. Sorry for not replying to you guys earlier but I have been very busy. Oh, and one other thing. My wife''s previous ring, the 3.095 chipped at the girdle. We sent the ring back to Chubb and they sent me a check for significantly more than what I paid for the stone in 2004 - 3 ct rocks have gone up more than 100% since I made the purchase.. What else was amazing about Chubb is that every quarter or so they would increase the value of the ring strictly based on what the market was doing. I didn''t know what to expect with Chubb, but went with them because my research indicated they were the best. They asked me a few questions over the phone such as "When did I notice it was chipped" etc.. and that was pretty much it. Also, they actually paid me out 10k more than the policy because I argued with them that due to the rings specs and cut and the fact that it was an H&A stone it was worth more than what it was appraised for. Had I had it appraised again before I lost the stone I would have been able to get roughly 20k more than what I received. Needless to say, I was very happy with the outcome as I did receive signicificantly more than what I paid. I had the new 4.19ct stone and settting appraised even before I picked it up with the same policy. I will do my best to get some pics on as soon as I can. I have never taken pics of a ring before so I hope they will come out ok. I hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving.
