I was toying with the idea of a gents/mens diamond necklace. I love the asscher cut may 1 ct....i like bling but not bling of round or princess.....so i am looking for inspiration.....
It has got me thinking about the diamond on a neoprene (black rubbery) necklace. Yes, not dangling like a pendant but through the diamond as part of the necklace it self.
I am kinda a casual kinda guy and the white chain + the diamond will be a bit too blingy for me..
Necklaces for men are in the forefront of my mind, as that's one of my next projects.
If you want a bezel on an asscher you have to KNOW your jeweler/bench can do sharp crisp corners, otherwise (to me) they get too bubbly. They look like a 13 year old girls bubble lettering... kwim? LOL
With that said. A clean double bezel on an asscher with sharp corners will give you enough balance between a small stone on a larger masculine neck/collarbone area.
Coati's ring has a round in a double bezel where it comes off cushiony
So if you can use your imagination a bit, you can see how clean crisp bezels will build presence without reading "dogtag."
You can also hide the bail behind the extra metal work so it can incorporate a thicker chain/cord. I imagine a 3mm round snake chain. Or a leather cord in the same diameter. I love the contrast of black leather and white metal.
I would worry about rubber durability. Maybe if the white gold chain is too "blingy" you could try black gold. You should post this thread in the rocky talk forum, you will probably get way more responses.
hmr mama and movie zombie- that is the idea that i am leaning towards.
Davi el mejor= yes a bezel setting maybe way to go with the above idea. understnad your comment about the 13yo bubble necklace. Hmmm maybe i have to get z CZ stone and put it on a chain/ rubber/ leather necklace to see how it looks before i decide on anything concrete.....
Mrs W 514- i will post in the rocky talk. i have not heard much about black gold- u just gotta love this forum.. i will check it out.
