Recently someone asked about a vendor called gemselect. I visited their website and recognized this was the eBay vendor from whom I bought a couple of gems five years ago. So I browsed and saw a pair of tsavorite. They are smaller than I wanted, but couldn't resist the color and price so I bought them. Got them in the mail today. Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The color is such intense green without any yellow, they really remind me of those lab created emeralds I saw in the mall. Here they are:

1.08ct total, 4.7mm each. Vendor picture are on the bottom with white background. My picture was taken today, total overcast, no sun.

They look really bright and lively. You got a good buy.

Chrono, thanks!

They are cut pretty deep for 3.3mm for a 4.7 round stone, the result was very intense green color. The funny thing was, the first thing cross my mind after removing them from bubble wrap, was ''are they real or they are treated?'' Because of that color! I think the vendor pictures are closer than mine.

Anyone who has mounting ideas for dangle earrings?

Those look lovely - nice find!

That IS deep. Well, I''ve never heard of garnets undergoing any treatment so you''re safe there. What''s your budget for the setting? White gold?

White gold. I have very few YG pieces, and haven''t worn them for almost a decade. Since these are small, so diamonds are wanted. And I know I want dangles. That''s all the idea I have now.

Leverbacks? Something simple like the following picture? I had the leverbacks put with exchangeable dangles so I can switch out the coloured stones without having to own 12 earrings (or whatever number I might end up with).

Very nice Chrono and just in time for St Patrick''s day!

Dangle earrings with other stones, or just with the Tsavs?

Just with the tsavs. I like the interchangeable idea, but still want some diamonds because these are so small. I also want something different than what I have already

I know I know, I really like dangles and diamonds.

Oh dear, I read incorrectly. I thought you said you DIDN''T want any diamonds. I''ll go looking again.

You can still get it - I really had a hard time choosing between two pairs - here is the other pair I went with round for mounting ease.

Ooh, cushions! My favourite shape...but just a tad too small.

I prefer at least 5.5 mm each.

Oh...I love the color. I also am fond of dangle earrings.

Pretty stones, they really pack a punch of color!

Very nice stones! I love how deep the green is!

The tsav lust never stops for me, which is unfortunate as they are pricey!
