Have you heard about this new gadget yet? As far as I can tell it lets the customer see what is marked on the girdle without the difficulty of using a loupe. Supposedly it shows a 3D picture although I am not quite sure on how this would work. Anyone have more information on this?

Sounds neat but haven''t heard anything about it yet. I''ll see if I can get an answer for ya unless someone beats me to it.

When a diamond is marked in this process, the marking is so small - it is close to impossible to see even using a microscope.

When De Beers promoted this type of marking they sold a special viewer to the stores that merchandised these diamonds.
The machine was basically a viewer capable of several hundred power magnification, and I believe it was sold for about $ 5000.00.

I believe the ISEE 2 has a viewer section to see this too, as their diamonds are marked in the same fashion.

Gemex is offering two versions of the viewer, a store model and a consumer model. They have said they are affordable, but haven''t heard the pricing for it yet.

They are also offering the marking services, but don''t know if their dealers will be able to do the markings or if they will have to be sent to a central location to do that.

I''m certain that Rhino and I will hear about this since we both are Gemex providers of the B Scope technologies.

I dunno, this more ordinary gadget wowed me when I saw it at Quest. Really, it is just a stable, really well positioned 20X loupe, I''m pretty sure.
