I've been messing around with the cut advisor at www.gemappraisers.com and found that a diamond I like is in the class 1B (everything else is a 1A except for the crown angle which is a 1B).
From reading the sight, it seems like all 1A and 1B are considered "ideal" stones.
Will this stone have fire and beauty? It's an AGS ideal stone.
I think that to a regular customer such as myself this stone will still be WAAAAAAY better than anything i'd see at the mall or on the finger's of others. It is still considered an 'ideal' cut and carries the weight of an AGS0 classification.
It's very hard to find good stones in my area (and when you do it costs an arm and a leg) and I've had my jeweller looking for a while now to no avail - I've even looked at a couple of stores myself and get the same thing, a class 1B. I like B&M stores and don't want to shop online.
BTW, i'm getting a SMOKING GOOD deal on this stone!!
Please advise.
