Who watched the 1st episode? What did you think? It was fun in many ways -- I liked seeing the rough & what little mining they showed, and the bargaining was a ball to watch, since I did a lot of it myself internationally (not for anything as fun as gems). Look forward to the next one in another place.
As with all reality shows, I have some questions about how real it is:
Ron LeBlanc's client is real? Can't see anybody collecting a ruby he plans to sell for $20K & telling the whole world he paid $5K for it -- not many will understand, despite the costs of the trip & cutting, duty, etc., plus profit, that have to come out of that.
I have doubts that people in a Communist country, selling gems under the table, would be very willing to do it on television.
Could they have gotten into N. Vietnam without the help of a production company? I'm simply curious about that.
What are your thoughts about the program?
