Gem and Mineral show 3/17

We went to the bi-annual gem and mineral show today, and I thought I would share some pictures.
Lots of interesting rocks and minerals! We had lots of fun, and afterwards went to a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch.




This piece of rhodochrosite was $300




I spent way too much time looking at estate jewelry! I really liked this ring and it was 50% off.















I ended up with these pieces of turquoise. Clockwise from top:
Ithaca Peak, Ithaca Peak, two matched Kingman, Sonoran Gold and Kingman waterweb



And I found a Rhodochrosite cab and a nice apple green jadeite cab


Also, a 1.30 CT. dark red spinel from Sri Lanka

We were there for 3+ hours, and I could've stayed 3 more.
It is a pretty big show and it was packed yesterday, which surprised me.
About 5 vendors had estate jewelry. They just lay the trays out, and you can touch and try on everything! My DH had to find a chair because I couldn't be rushed!
I always have regrets afterward. Like today, I'm kicking myself for not buying some things I looked at.
But there's another show in October, so all is not lost......

So so so cool Stracci!!!!!!! I would probably spend a fortune there buying up all the samples for my 10yo!!!

I wanted everything!
I'm just a weird rockhound at heart.
I fell in love with that jadeite cab. The camera just doesn't capture the actual vibrant green color!

I almost had an epileptic seizure looking at those group shots. My brain can't comprehend so many fun stones all at once. Nice haul!!
