And now my FDH's wedding band is off to CAD! I know, I know... it might seem strange to some that we're having EVERYTHING made now when we're not even officially engaged yet but we both know it's coming and we'd rather get it all done while we're in the swing of things so we can just relax and enjoy everything else that's coming up!
His ring was another fun one to design. It's also a mixed metal creation. He said he definitely wanted rose gold in it to match my ring, and I wanted it to be classic but unique (and of course manly at the same time). We toyed with adding diamonds but he found that too flashy for his taste. Then Caysie suggested a raw diamond and we really like that idea, but couldn't find a way to incorporate it in to the overall design while keeping the other elements. In the end we went with a 12mm heavily hand carved textured pattern.
So that's four projects to CAD in one week - lol. If I think waiting a week for CAD's is going to be hard, I can't imagine the 6+ weeks it will take for the rings to be fully created

I would be on pins and needles if I had all that going on and waiting on CADs! That would send my anxiety level over the top!
You know, I hadn't realized it before I read your note but I think this is actually why I want to do it all right now. The thought of going through the process of wait for sketches... tweak the designs... wait for CADs... wait for the final product.... over and over again would be MUCH harder. Knocking it all out in one blow is somehow strangely soothing?

I feel your pain! I happen to be one of the most impatient people on earth and I wanted it all yesterday, lol! I would rather bang it all out at once too. I got my cads yesterday and there was no tweaking (much simpler design than yours I am sure!) so I hope that I will have it in 4 weeks or so!

CADS CADS CADS!!!!!! His ring is done! It's exactly like I was envisioning and he is sooooooo over the moon about it. As he said, "This ring is FIERCE!"
One thing to note is that it will be a soft brushed finish, not bright and shiny like the photo; she said the brush finish in the software makes everything look flat and she wanted us to be able to see the texture. Also, the shine makes it look like the tops of the weave are pointy but they're actually rounded.
