Caysie told us her calendar would clear up May 25. We said don't worry about rushing back to us after all the stuff you've had going on; take a week to recoup and let's pick it up June 1. Surprise surprise, she reached out on May 30! Because we had already discussed so many details and I'd previously sent sketches of what we envisioned, by the following day we had her to-scale concept sketches and as of this morning we're officially off to CADs!

We're going with an antique but feminine feel, using concepts that are sentimental to me or us as a couple.

Waiting for him to propose is going to be TORTUROUS!!! :lol: And I know it will be more towards the end of the year, so I'm going to have to just put this out of my mind and pretend it doesn't exist :eek:

I think yours will be at least a couple of weeks before mine. We just went to CAD design, so production is a ways off. We know there are a couple of tweaks we'll want to make in CAD so that will bump it back a bit too.

The hardest part is that I don't think I'll be seeing the ring until he proposes, at least in person. I'm hoping he'll be okay with my seeing completed "glamour shot" photos. Maybe I should bring that up tonight... while we're celebrating with cocktails... :dance:
 
And the progress (madness?!) continues. We just ordered two wedding bands/stackers from her to compliment my ring design :mrgreen:.

I've realized that I'm going to be kind of sad when this whole "project design" phase is done! At least we still have one more project to plan - his band :dance:
 
How exciting!! Caysie is a sweetheart to work with and is super responsive to emails. I always feel like I'm emailing a friend more than a vendor when I'm dealing with her!

Thanks! We're sooooooo excited too :mrgreen:. It's cute to see how excited Caysie is as well. You know it's a great design when even the vendor can't wait for CADs to be done - lol.

And yes, mixed metals! Rose gold and platinum. I've loved rose gold for years (one of my friends said that every time she sees rose gold she thinks of me :lol:) and have a David Yurman SS/RG/morganite ring that I absolutely adore, so I've known I'd want to combine it in my engagement ring if possible. Thankfully BF was all on board with it too. So there are a few parts that have rose gold, the majority is platinum, and I chose two CvB wedding bands (Sophia and Anastasia) to go with it, one in each color.

CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS SET!!!! :dance::dance::dance:
 
Yay! I have the Sophia in platinum and I had it antiqued. The carving shows up a lot. I want more bands so bad. Love them all! Excited for you!

I know! I had narrowed it down to four choices and Caysie and I were talking about which would look best, using a photo collage I sent (below) but referring to them by their names. BF was in the group text but had been a silent for a bit when all of a sudden he chimed in with "I don't know which is which but I really like the two on the right". Of course, those happened to be the two I was leaning towards so it was a done deal after that :)

And I've already put him on notice that I'll want to add more bands in the future. He knows that I love to change things up so he gets it :lol:IMG_2093.JPG
 
Ok I have a confession to make and I am horribly embarrassed by it. I am getting cads from caysie this week to reset my stone- the one I have had for only a few weeks. I really made a mistake on my setting but I am sooooo excited about the new one. Love her work! I just hate that I will have an expensive setting sitting around.
 
I should have CAD's this week from Caysie too! My last last last diamond ring....

Oh wow!! Tell us more! What didn't you like about your new ring and what will your new NEW ring be like?

And maybe you could sell your old setting, or mount a colored stone in it?

I think I'm answering my own question: Bailey and Bianca
 
It was just too much pave. I felt self conscious wearing it and I also felt like I had to take it off every time I did anything to protect the pave. I sooooo wish I had found ps and cvb before I bought it. Oh well... I may try to sell or make a rhr.

The new one is a dahlia head with a sienna shank, all platinum. Simple and sturdy. I have a 7 stone wb and may add another cvb band.
