starting looking for an engagement ring lately ... and visited a recommended local jeweler .. and he shows me this Gabrielle cut princess. i know a brief history of Gabi and such, but am wondering how to judge the value of what i'm getting (what to compare to).
the rock was a 0.42 carat, D color, SI1 with a price of just under $2k. the jeweler sounded somewhat open to negotiation on that (not sure if that's $10 or $100). are the Gabi cuts as hard to find as he says? are the worth the $$? is there a cut "rating" i should look for or can i assume it's good if it's a Gabrielle (equivalent to "ideal")?
i do know that it looked completely different than a regular princess under the microscope. seemed to sparkle awful nice ...!
