Fun photos and looking for setting advice

I noticed how beautiful the stone looks from the underside, never looked at it like that before. But unfortunately the reason I was looking was that I’ve noticed that the stone is so low and open that my chubby fingers hit the bottom of the stone and make it dull quick. I clean my rings every morning but the lotion gets on there fast with this setting.
So looking for advice on settings that are closed on the bottom. Also like this idea because the culet is open and shows skin color I’d rather have platinum on the bottom. IMG_2203.jpeg

Have it unset- rhodium plate the entire interior of the basket/gallery (not just where the girdle is next to)
And have them add not a solid plate, but a heavily filigree/lattice across that area? In white metal, of course.

Would sizing up prevent your finger from touching the culet?

Yes probably sizing up and putting a plate would help a lot. I’ve noticed my fingers fluctuate a lot I work with my hands maybe that’s why.

Have you tried putting tin foil under it and seeing how it affects the stone?

Yes I’ve put tin foil and then I’ve made a little piece of silver foam (like from the kids craft material) that fits in there. Lately when I wear it I put the little foam piece in bc the thought of the diamond being greasy made me nuts. The foil looked much better but it would eventually fall out. The foam stays in all day.
I like the way it looks but the foam is tight and presses on the culet. I don’t know if that’s affecting light performance. But generally the look is improved by doing this (and my stone OCD)

It’s a beautiful ring!!

Also if anyone has any setting ideas for an antique style emerald I’d love to see them!

Would traps work with my shape of emerald or are they better with the more squarish ones

One thing that’s interesting is how much the prongs and milgrain reflect in the facets so I definitely want to eliminate those.
