This is the one I'm stuck on. I have the answer, but I can't get past the next bit! The hint for the name of the city is: what mythical creature could be its own parent? By giving birth to itself, ie rising from its own...

So I've gotten that far but I can't "realise why I did not go far enough?!" Argh, can you get it?

hmm...maybe you have to change the spelling?

Yes I'm sure that must be it but I've tried all the combinations I can think of. I must have missed one.

Me neither, I have it in textedit, but when I try to copy and paste it always changes to BM~åà€! I wonder does it make a picture when in its proper layout? A picture that looks like a map? Are you on mac or PC? I'm on mac and getting nothing...try it in paint if you're on PC?

I'm terrible at this. I'm still at the first kumquat. I've typed what was in the tab but that doesn't work. I've replaced "green" in the first clue with "404 - file not found, "orange," and "kumquat." No dice.

I keep seeing kumquats. I only got as far as "Go to One." I typed that in and what did I see? Damn kumquat.

Aw Zoe! It's so frustrating isn't it. It's definitely a special type of quiz, I think you'd want to be particularly computer-nerdy to get it. Here's the answer for the first one:
The first clue is in the example, http://hdwhite.org/puzzle/green.html and the second clue is in the page title, "go to one". So if you replace the word "green" in the example with "one", it brings you to the next level! Copy and paste the example into your browser, replacing the word "green" with the word "one".

I think I accidentally threw you off with the kumquats - they're not a clue, they're what you see when you get the wrong answer. I think it must be the most difficult quiz on the internet!

Thanks for the hint ... but I'm feeling kind of dumb right now as I don't get it.
When I type in what I think is the next page (page called "A Winter's Day") it takes me to a page that says "Gaah! So close, and yet so far away. Look again."

No! Am I missing something there? I've tried changing fonts but to no avail... have you figured it out?
