About 16 !!!

So today is the NZ general election
We have really strick rules about what we can and can't do on election day
all political advertising is banned and no social media posts about who one voted for - basically anything that may change a person's mind how they will vote today

this year my prevouse safe seat has become alarmingly marginal so we have both been in to do our civic duty as every vote will count

i wore my grandma's ER and mum's eternity my dad gave her when i was born plus my great grandma's wedding ring and mum's '80's emerald - because i know all those people vote like me !!

I also had my covid ring on my index finger -silver, peridot and white saphires (that now needs a clean) i wear it to remind myself not to touch my face when out and about

I wish your candidate wins!!! I know you voted right! Love all your rings, what a meaningful set!

im watching results
we had a huge amount of early voting like 2 million out of 3.5 million people enrolled
one percent has been counted and they are making it look like a landslide for the present govt

like this morning my Gary was saying it was so quiet and i said because all the Torries like us are crying
he said we are not Torries we are Nats
(Which are kind of the same thing) but he wanted to argue geographical technicalities

Anyway not at all happy

I voted! My husband put our ballots into his special folder and will return them to the voting place on October 31. Ballots are in 2 languages. I didn't know that there are 2 official languages in California. I am confused.


My absolutely favorite ring. My daughter bought it from Overstock and wore it for several years. I always thought it was a very expensive piece. Red garnet and diamonds! I was surprised when she gave it to me. I still love this ring more than any piece I own, hope the garnet is from North Carolina where my heart belongs .

Love that it’s in two languages and the inclusive nature of our beautiful state! The more people who are able to vote, the better!

Not the most flattering bling shot, but here we are right after casting my ballot this morning. Bird of paradise is a common flower in my area, and these were right outside the ballot drop location. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s beauties with their home states’ natural beauty in the coming weeks!
