I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this would be a good deal.
Comments/Concerns are welcome!

1.01 CT Princess Cut
Color: G
Clarity: VVS2
Certified by I.G.L.
measurements 5.30 x 5.35 x 4.02 mm.
Depth 75.0%
TABLE 85.0%
Symmetry, Polish, Finish: all Very Good
No fluorescence

He told me that the diamond is extremely sparkly since the symmetry is perfect.

Price: $4500.00

Please help me, good value?

Thank you everyone!!

no no no!

ETA: welcome to PS. clarity and color?

Color: G

Clarity: VVS2

Sorry, That's Important.

Thanks

ok, point 1-IGL ? I've never heard of them. AGS, GIA are the two major labs. EGL and IGI are barely bordering on accepatbility.

2. That table is much too big.

3. The depth is actually 75.8%

4. 40-50% of a diamond's price is in how well it is cut

ETA: ah, ok. IGL is a Canadian lab.

I''ve heard of IGL, but haven''t heard many good things about them. There is a search box here, type in IGL and a bunch of threads should come up on them. Good luck, HTH.

Wow, that is much smaller than my 1 ct asscher and asschers are supposed to be small for their weight!

According to the Princess Cut Chart on the diamond tutorial... http://diamonds.pricescope.com/fnc1.asp

The table is between "average" and "below average" (Class 3B-4A). The depth is a little high as well, and the girdle thickness isn''t mentioned. This is not a very well cut stone, and the IGL certification means the Color and Clarity values could be inflated as well. Definitely not a "good deal" for $4500.

Of course the diamond dealer says the stone is "extremely sparkly since the symmetry is perfect", he''s trying to make a sale!

If you''re willing to go out-of-state to make a purchase, I''m assuming you''d be willing to go with one of the PS vendors listed here. There are lots of Princess Cut lovers here that have tons of experience and lots of advice to give on finding a wonderful diamond for you. I''d suggest making a new post saying what you''re looking for, and let the great folks here help you find a stunner!

Good luck!
