Wedding Found Venue. Need much dust, please!

Okay so feeling very disheartened about the venue situation, I was driving through Livermore and I remembered one place I had not visited because Demon Boss had said negative things about it when I was looking for venues. Well, desperate I gave them a call. And???

IT''S PERFECT (we were not surprised to find that Demon Boss was cracked in the head. We just weren''t aware of this in January when we were originally looking)! AND according to the owners my date is available. SO, I have to double check the date with their caterers, they don''t do the wedding bookings directly. SO... please my lovely friends, I could use your PS dust and good wishes that this place works out! It''s in budget and just flat out lovely. It has everything I want and I would only have to make a few minor adjustments to my floral order to make it work!

I called the catering manager and emailed her as well. So I''m really REALLY hoping that she comes through and contacts me so I can get this worked out ASAP. The catering is through a restuarant and caterers with a good reputation so... I''m really crossing my fingers.

Freke honey, as it is ONLY freaking place I've found that a) is available for my date and b) is handicap accessible and c)has a ceremony site and reception site that are the right size and d) is in Livermore... I'm feeling like Goldilocks did when she tried that third bowl and I'm a little worried (paranoid) about lurkers or anything right now. So if it a) falls through or b) works out I promise to post pics and links.

I can tell you about it though.

It's got lovely OLD huge oak trees on the property. Vines (as it's wine country)... and the ceremony site has the most amazing view of vine laden rolling hills. The minor adjustment is that neither of the two ceremony areas have an arch or arbor or anything (like Garre) so I would need to do something to define the space as little better... without taking away from the view. So two altar arrangements on either side of one of the ceremony sites would be necessary. I wouldn't do the flowers and ribbons on the chairs though, so it would balance out price wise I think. I'm paying about 160 for 8 chair decorations. I can probably get two large altar pieces (to be re-used inside after the ceremony) instead of those. They will let me use my rose petals too!

The reception room is a blank canvas. But a nicer blank canvas (by far as its got lovely wood floors) than Garre's. It's brigher, got much nicer chandeliers (I wouldn't do the lanterns), nicer linens and chairs (and Garre had nice chairs, but these are nicer!). The bathrooms are gorgeous. The bridal cottage is just perfect (and larger and brighter than Garre's). And they will let me use this really special space as the cocktail function room if I want too-- which I don't know if I do yet. So... it's just right. And it's ALL handicap accessible!!!! YAY!

Please, please let this work out!

Honestly, it I hadn't listened to Demon Boss... I would have booked this place instead of Garre to begin with. So... maybe, just maybe.... things happen for a reason.

I will lily-- that's exactly what happened with Garre. But it's actually going to be pretty easy, as a local restuarant caters the place. If I get the confirmation and they do a courtest hold, John and I can pop up there for dinner tomorrow or today or Monday. THANK YOU!

Thank you Gwen and Isabel!!! I''m hoping that the catering manager is checking her mail... or that the owners have a different number for her and call her and tell her to call me. I''m on tenderhooks. Especially as John ''laid down the law'' last night about our venue. Half of our food and beverage estimate is due with them in 3 weeks and he was like "I don''t care if we are in breech of contract they aren''t getting another cent from me until they start answering our questions!"... he doesn''t lose his temper often, but when he doesn''t he''s pretty implacable.

What place caters it Gypsy? My DH and I have spent a lot of time in Livermore the past few years as he''s been there the past 4 summers for internships. There are some great restaurants but a lot of duds...
