Uff, it must have been there a while. Can you clean it a bit? Do you have pictures of the stone up front?

I'd be scrubbing that up right away!

ooo this is my dream! clean it up and post some more shots of the stone!

I can see faint marks and design round the outside of the ring

How unusual.
I would get a needle or small metal file and see if you can scrap off (gently) any of the muck on the metal part of the ring. See if you can scrap or scratch back to a shiny metal.

Have you tried some hot water with dishwashing detergent and scrubbing with a soft toothbrush?

It looks like a sterling ring, sterling corrodes in sea water quickly. Gold above 9k will come out looking like new.

Yes, I agree.
If this were gold, it wouldn't be corroded like this.
So probably sterling (or base metal) and CZ.

It could be a white sapphire or topaz also...hard to tell from the pic.

Thanks for the reply’s everyone I’m going to take it to my local jeweller when I get chance I will post what I find out from what I can tell by eye and shape it’s a round cut ideal definitely class D. It’s bright even though it’s grubby on the mount

This is so cool. I can't wait to see what you find out.

How cool to find it at the beach! I always hope to find treasures

Considering how the stone looks pristine, I don’t think it’s CZ. Please keep us updated!
