So I''ve been shopping around for an engagement ring lately. I''ve been looking at various mounts and decided that something like this would fill up her finger more, as it is a size 8.

Has anyone else bought any mounts on eBay? I am curious as to their quality. And also, I was thinking around a .6-.7 carat stone for this mount; does anyone have any rings that are similar with similar size stones in it? Thank you for all your comments/suggestions!

I would stay away from buying an engagement mounting on ebay. They list the diamond clarity as being I1....NOT good. Take a look at some Pricescope vendors settings.

They all have beautiful mountings that will be without a doubt high quality for a great price. I'll see if I can find something similar to what you found on ebay.

Here's one...

I didn''t think the I1 would be that big of a complication, because of the size of the stones. Thanks for the suggestion, but she doesn''t want the diamond to come to that much of a point on the setting.

I1 diamonds have inclusions that are easily seen by the naked eye. You do not want this in her engagement ring. The listing from ebay doesn''t tell you what the cut quality is on the stones which is the most important thing. Without that, the stones may be dull, and lifeless.

The setting I listed was just one I found quickly to give you an idea of something similar you could get from a reputable vendor. Take some time and look at some of the vendors I listed. They will all have tons of mountings to choose from that will have awesome quality stones. Good luck!

I''m going to agree with luvmyhalo....there are many reputable and affordable businesses here on PS. In the end...you get what you pay for. The settings on eternitydiamonds.com seem VERY affordable to me...with better specs. Where are you planning on purchasing your center stone from? I would definitely try to buy your setting from the same place you buy your center stone. Saves the hassle of sending it, purchasing insurance for it, etc. Good luck! What a fun time in your life!

in the end...purchasing from ebay (even with a return policy) is a crap shoot.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I''ll look more into American Set; hopefully I can find one just like the one from pompeii.
