hey all -
this is more of a general question, though i am currently hunting for studs and i do have prospects for each of these shapes. i've been offered by a jeweler two GIA XXX VS2 D studs, 1ctw, with 61% tables and 59% depth, and 32.5 and 40.8 crown and pavilion angles, respectively. that table sounded enormous so i checked in HCA and it scores very well... but in my researching, it sounds like that type of diamond will be spready and BRIGHT but not fiery. (i'm totally new to this so correct me if i'm wrong.)
prior to being offered these, i had been looking for the more traditional 53-57% table, 59-61.8% depth, etc... which i assumed will be bright AND fiery.
but, i've read here that some people prefer the 60/60 for earrings. i'm guessing because it's harder to see flash on the ears? so bright would be a better attribute?
thoughts on what you would prefer?
