Flynn Resigns

Well at least he took the high road and resigned.

Unlike Ms Yates who had to be fired.

Not true, Yates had resigned already, and it was known that she would stay on till her replacement was named. She then did the right thing and stopped the enforcement of the ban, and Trump fired her.. Who cares.

Oh that's only a right wing thing. You know, the former party of family values. As long as male politicians don't grab the ###### of women, we leftists don't really care about their "valentine breakfasts"; we'd prefer they just get to work already.

Considering they were working through a few nights to confirm appointees, I am willing to give them a pass on having breakfast with their spouses this morning. Who knows, maybe their spouses wanted their 'stuff grabbed' for Valentine's Day. :naughty:

Hi,

I think Mike Flynn wouldn't be able to contain the news that he had spoken to the Russian Ambassador about sanctions to Pres. Trump. After all, Pres Trump is the one in love with Russia. Well, I think the Pres knew. We need an investigation quickly.

You certainly do enjoy head banging JoCo! I think you are in luck, being an apologist for the current administration is going to give you so many wonderful opportunities for it.

It doesn't matter what you, or anyone else, thinks we need. GOP leadership says we should move on. Chaffetz says no investigation. The Republicans are in complete power, and we have ourselves (the US voting population) to thank for it.

Chaffetz makes my blood boil. He's such a transparently partisan POS and he doesn't seem to care. Angry constituents? Paid protestors! It's sociopathic, and there are too freakin' many of them currently in charge. I hope he's primaried so forcefully, his head spins.

Oh, and re: Flynn--

flynnlie.png

Did anyone watch the press conference with Spicer? Made things clear as mud, as usual. Which was it: Did Flynn have the full confidence of the president, or was he forced to resign because of eroded trust? And if Flynn didn't discuss anything improper with the russian ambassador, why lie? Why the scandal? What will be the crack that breaks the dam, I wonder?

My :wall: is not about politics or politicians; it's because of the people who flip-flop over politicians' behavior/actions depending on how it supports their latest rant. ;)

Several people called Chump a bad husband because he didn't wait for Melania to get out of the car and walk up the stairs together. Today, politicians are 'malingering' because (theoretically) they are having Valentines day breakfast with their spouses.

Dipping the ladle into the apples & oranges punch again, are we? If Trump had used "I was too busy walking up Melania up the stairs" as an excuse to not respond to a national crisis, that would be an analogous situation. No one seriously believes that the GOP's silence was due to their chivalry and romanticism. Guess what they were doing Valentine's Day last year? Smooching their honeys over heart shaped pancakes? hahahahaha No, no, no, no...keep guessing...

They were demanding that Republicans block any nomination by Obama to replace Scalia! McConnell managed to post on his FB the Saturday night before (when many chivalrous men may have been treating their wives, or mistresses, to a lovely V-Day dinner) that the vacancy should not be filled by Obama. But today? No posts about Flynn at all....what a big fat surprise

Maria - for craps sake, it's all a hypothetical. Sheesh ... when did it become a law that people MUST 'comment' on something ... everything that goes on? The sky is blue, yet people aren't compelled to go on the record to opine about the specific shade of blue, are they?

What's all a hypothetical?

And in an alternate universe, Rep Chris Collins (R-NY) had this to say when asked why the GOP has been silent on Flynn's resignation:

"when did it become a law that people MUST 'comment' on something ... everything that goes on? The sky is blue, yet people aren't compelled to go on the record to opine about the specific shade of blue, are they?"

 He may as well have said that!! The National Security Adviser resigns, possibly committing sedition, the sky is blue, apples are oranges, oranges are apples, it's all good people, nothing to see here, move along!

Bahaaahaaahaaa, snort, hahhahhahhaaaa, I have  so many times my eyes are stuck under my lids. Being in the dark ain't so bad.

hahahaha I feel the same way. I swear that I've rolled by eyes so hard they are going to stick that way forever.

I have mentioned in another thread that I write to my Senators and my Congresswoman. I have drafted an e-mail that I plan to send to them as well as to Senator John McCain of The Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I am posting it in case anyone else wants to send it to his representatives. Below is a link that will show you how to find out who your Senators and Congressman are and how to contact them. I have also posted contact information for Senator McCain.

How to find your Senators and Congressman...https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members
How to reach Senator McCain...https://www.mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact-form

"Ever since the news broke that Michael Flynn had secretly negotiated with the Russians while Barack Obama was still the President of the United States and attempting to conduct foreign policy by enacting sanctions against Russia, I have wondered if Mr. Flynn'sactions rose to the level of treason. I have also wondered if Donald Trump was part of a conspiracy with Michael Flynn to commit treason. Obviously Michael Flynn would not have been able to negotiate with the Russians without Donald Trump's blessing. (At the time I had heard nothing of Mike Pence's involvement.)

Trump obviously undermined (look at the results) President Obama's foreign policy with Russia by surreptitiously and illegally doing business with the Russians in contravention of The Logan act. It is time that Donald Trump and Mike Pence, whom we now know was aware of the shenanigans, be impeached for treason.

Sincerely,
(your name goes here)"

Thanks Deb! I've been writing to my senators/congresswoman as well, even though writing Susan Collins is probably a complete waste of time. She usually only takes a stand on anything when she knows her vote won't matter. Thanks for saving me time!

One small error! Senator McCain is on The Armed Services Committee, not The Foreign relations committee. One can write to him, of course, but perhaps it would be better to write to a member of The Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

What the actual F?!

They announced this about an hour ago on Rachel Maddow's show. This just keeps getting worse as the hours go by.

Maybe someone wiser and more well versed in politics can help me understand this: How is this not treason? How is Trump still in office? In all seriousness: If the higher-ups in the GOP don't investigate this (because why would they), can someone make them??? Is there anyone who can reasonably investigate this without the threat of being "too close"?? I don't understand how it's possible for corruption to be this intense and this high up in the government. I mean I always knew politicians weren't angels, but this is a new low.

The bottom line: There are varying reports of who spoke with whom, and beyond that, a lot of speculation.

The Russian government has said it reached out to and spoke with people affiliated with both Trump and Clinton. Neither the Trump nor Clinton campaigns have acknowledged any such meeting. The Trump campaign denies the meetings took place. And if a meeting did occur, it’s unclear who represented Trump.

Ruby is referring to my comment that this was reported on Maddow's show, MSNBC stated this headline as "Breaking News" that was being reported by the NYT. Once again she is trying to bait me with safe room and play doh comments.

Ruby turn Fox News off. They weren't reporting this last time I switched over to their channel. Do you not consider the NYT to be a creditable news source? Do you consider CNN creditable? They are also reporting the story as was attached in Loves Dog post
