yayyyyyy

Yay!!!! We ought to take bets on who will be the next one to go.

Apparently CNN got a copy of the resignation letter.

"I inadvertently briefed the Vice President-elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phonically with the Russian ambassador. I have sincerely apologized to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology," Flynn wrote according to a copy of his resignation letter obtained by CNN.
"I am tendering my resignation, honored to have served our nation and the American people in such a distinguished way," he wrote. "I know with the strong leadership of President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and the superb team they are assembling, this team will go down in history as one of the greatest presidencies in US history."

This presidency certainly will go down in history, but not for the reasons Flynn thinks.

BTW I am falling in love with Pete Souza lately. All of his photos of Obama are awesome, especially when they throw shade at SCROTUS

Inadvertently briefed...with incomplete information (Translation: I told a big whopping lie and was caught).

Who goes next? Trump I hope for the same reason...Russian ties that bind his balls.

Well at least he took the high road and resigned.

Unlike Ms Yates who had to be fired.

Nothing to see here! Nothing to investigate here!

Which is of course the real reason he resigned, or (more likely) was forced to resign...

Here's hoping!

Don't know if this is big enough to read, but here's the full text of Flynn's resignation letter.

LOL at this part.
I am also extremely honored to have served President Trump, who in just three weeks, has reoriented American foreign policy in fundamental ways to restore America's leadership position in the world

So, what did the president know, and when did he know it?

I'm sure he's looking up the definition of "plausible deniability".

Hopefully Cheeto will stay true to himself by opening his tweet mouth and inserting foot before doing any research or listening to advisors who have brains.

I'm just worried, with his tiny hands, we won't be able to make out his victory signs as he boards the helicopter.

Wow, get offline for a bit and look what happens!! I was watching Chance on Hulu with DH, no phones/distractions - I had no idea that we had something to celebrate!

WOOHOOO! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

The content of the letter is to "save face" since he is clearly forced to resign. Peons are fired but top brass get the option to "resign".

Lauer was on this morning pressing KellyAnne for the reason WHY, if they knew about this a MONTH AGO, did she say yesterday (or the day before) that Flynn had the 'full confidence of the President?' She deflected, of course, but that's still a BIG unanswered question.

How far does the rot go?

:hand: Get in line! I'm still waiting to hear when Obama really knew I wouldn't be able to keep my healthcare plan & doctor, nor would I actually save $2500/year. :naughty:

So Trump doesn't fire Flynn for lying, but he fires Sally Yates who warned the White House about Flynn.

Flynn did as he should have done. If, when asked, your first inclination is to lie, you have a flaw in your character.

There was literally no reason to fire her. She knows the way the law and constitution work, unlike Scrotus. He fired her because he didn't like that she was 1) a woman, 2) doing her job and 3) acting in accordance with the law. He seems to think he can just do whatever he wants, and that Congress and the courts will just find in his favor and enforce his stupid EOs, regardless of their legality or constitutionality. He's finding out that you aren't the friggin' king and things don't just happen when you snap your little baby fingers. At some point, hopefully, Congress will pull their heads out of their asses and get it together.

Yates' "Flynn warning" is entirely separate from her failing to perform her (other) duties, for which she was fired.

This is the same excuse companies give for getting rid of whistleblowers.

Best and brightest, most transparent administration.......no way to deny the poor judgement shown by appointment of Flynn in the first place.

Calling out wrong-doing doesn't translate into a 'save your behind'/get out of jail free card unless the "whistle blowing" issue directly contributed to the person's inability to do their job. In this case, I'm not following what Yates' Flynn warning and Yates' refusal to do her job regarding the Immigration EO has to do with each other.

Apparently, we will have to wait until at least tomorrow. Rep Chris Collins (R-NY) had this to say when asked why the GOP has been silent on Flynn's resignation:

"Well, it's Valentine's Day," Collins said, "and I guess they're having breakfast with their wives."

Such romantics, who knew!

If political men don't demonstrate chivalry to their wives, they're pigs. If they do, they're not 'doing their job'.

Oh that's only a right wing thing. You know, the former party of family values. As long as male politicians don't grab the pvssies of women, we leftists don't really care about their "valentine breakfasts"; we'd prefer they just get to work already.
