How concerned should I be about florescence? I just bought the following diamond online:

.83
E
VS2
Excellent/Excellent
Gia Cert
Ideal Cut (verified with Halloway scale)
No Culet
Depth: 62.0%
Table: 55.0%
Medium Fluorescence
Price $4,400

I brought it to a retail shop to find a setting and the salesperson freaked me out about the fluorescence - and said I shouldn't buy an E colored stone with medium fluorescence! Any thoughts?

If it is just Medium fluorescence and diamond doesn't look milky under the dayligh you shouldn't be concern.

Fluorescence, IMO, is the greatest thing going. You get a nice discount and it either improves or does not change the beauty of the stone. The e-ring I bought (last month... why I am still on this board I don't know) was an E with Strong Blue -- and it is just fabulous. I've yet to see a better ring in any store or on someone (not counting size -- it's only about 1.5, and I've seen plenty of 3-5 carats recently).
