Fluorescence in melee/pave stones

I had a search, but never came up with anything.

What are peoples opinions regarding this? I have 2 x rings here, both of which have several stones which exhibit what I would consider to be strong fluor. Never noticed during normal wear, but under a black light its very evident. I personally don't mind it as it's not a situation which occurs often, however for those a little more picky I can imagine that it could cause some issue.

Is it common practice for jewellers to sort their melee based on this as well, or is it all pot luck, or something that needs to be specified if a requirement of the buyer?

I have several rings with melee with varying degrees of fluor as well. Doesn't bother me. In fact I wish all the stones had fluor!

I couple of my melee stones in my rings are fluorescent. Doesn't bother me.

When I was first on PS I asked a custom designer if they would make sure none of my stones had it. They thought I was nutz  .

They were right. It's a level of anal that is far beyond what I need in practicality.

There is no right or wrong on this.
You don't have to be similar to other people.
People vary.

Get whatever you want, but if you want to spec the fluor be prepared to pay more.
You are giving them more work to do.
