This princess cut appears more rectangular? and i''m concerned about the flourescense? Opinions? Help?

1.52 G VS2 (gia cert)
6.93 x 5.84 x 4.61
flourescence - medium blue??
depth - 78.9%
table - 75%
girdle - slightly thick to very thick
culet - pointed
polish - good
sym - good

Don't know too much about princess cuts but those specs do look odd, rectangular vs. square. The girdle appears to be too thick...if the range is slightly thick to thick..its probably carrying extra weight it doesn't need. With the fluor, it could be fine, could be not...so with those three odd items, I'd keep searching for another stone.

Rapaport reports a 0 to -2% discount for medium blue fluorescence on G/VS stones, so that should not be a problem. Slightly to very thick girdles are not ideal, but very common on princess cuts, which are notorious for "weight retention" proportions. It looks like the cutter of this stone was striving to make it over the 1.50 mark.

It does appear to be a bit on the deep side, with a wide table. That could be it's biggest drawback, although with princess cuts, (as with all fancies) you only know for certain upon viewing. An IdealScope would be handy at that occasion, telling you whether the stone is a good or poor performer as far as light return goes.
