Flu during Finals

Yesterday I thought I just had a really bad hangover.. Which was weird because while I did drink Saturday night, I didn''t drink too much.

But today I woke up feeling even more awful, so I went to the doctor. I have the flu!

I have a final tomorrow, but I am bringing a doctor''s note to my professor to see if I can take it later on in the week.

Any at home remedies would be greatly appreciated. I haven''t felt this sick in a long time. Ugh!

I was sick a few days ago and since I can''t take medicine, I drank some hot water with lemon and honey. I did that for about two days and it worked. I didn''t have the flu though but it definitely cures a sour throat.

Aww, OUpeargirl, I remember being sick during exams and it''s so not fun. If you JUST started feeling ill you can try taking echinacea. It gives your immune system a general boost and if your infection hasn''t progressed too far it might help. This is what my mom who is an infectious disease specialist recommends. I also just saw a commercial for anti-virals that your doctor can prescribe for the flu but I don''t know anything about those. Rest might be the best remedy if you can get it.

Thanks! A friend brought over a giant thing of Sprite. It''s the only thing besides water that I can keep down.

I just want to go home and have my mom take care of me!

My entire family (including my 1 year old) just recovered from the flu so I feel for ya. I was sick for 6 days so I hope you recover quicker. The silver lining is I lost a few pounds. Good luck on your final.

Tacori- my goodness, that must have been awful. I''ve been trying to lysol everything I touch (remote, door handles, etc) because I would hate for my roommates to also be sick during their finals!
