Flouresecence?

What exactly is flourescence and when is flourescence a good thing? I have heard arguments for and against flourescence.

I dun think flourescence is a big issue. Some people who worked in the GIA for 20 over years say flor is good.

Only GIA grade floures. HRD and AGS dun rate them, so wat's the big deal. importantly is the proportion clarity and color.

My two cents worth.

All diamonds graded by the AGS are graded for fluorescence. The grades are:

- Negligible (None – Faint)
- Medium Blue
- Strong Blue
- Very Strong Blue

We have also seen certificates with a grade of medium yellow fluorescence.
